As my interests & collections grow, I’m combining my love for Vintage linens & graphic arts, which brings me to the following. Welcome to our American Artist Collection of Antique & Vintage Linens & Textiles (1930-Now). Currently honoring Vera Neumann, Luther Travis, & Lois Long, & hoping to continue adding new & renowned artists. One of my latest favorite American artists is Luther Travis, who was born on Cape Charles, the eastern shore of Virginia. As a freelance designer, he was one of the first names to be used in designer-name collections. He designed bed & bath linens, & table linens for Fallani & Cohn. His insatiable curiosity exposed him to creative inspirations. He visited most of the major museums in the world, examined ancient ruins, tramped through jungles, & climbed mountains to see & study with the discerning eye of a talented artist. Every experience became part of his talent. He was a well respected artist, compassionate horticulturist, who spent much of his time in his garden. He passed on March 18, 2019 at his home in Pennsylvania, USA. DESCRIPTION: This listing includes 2 STUNNING New Pre Owned VINTAGE signed Luther Travis linen kitchen or tea towels. SOLD SEPARATELY. Currently available are: Cream & Pink Checkered towel, with bold black frame. At the center, a large cast iron pot & dipper. Made by ORIGINAL TOWN HOUSE, which dates the towel back to the 50’s or 60’s. Of approx. 28 3/4 x 15 3/4. I can almost see the open fire… Cream & green towel, illustrating China & Glass items that would be sold at the local WOODWELL Antiques store, Illustrated items include hurricane lamps, stoneware, & silver & glass serving pieces. Of approx. 29 x 16. CONDITION: These are in EXCELLENT New Pre Owned Never Used Vintage Condition. With THICK, CRISP & SHINY fabric, & DREAMY colors.
