Artist’s early art studio in an apartment room on Montclair Road in Birmingham, AL. This is a reproduction. The original is oil on linen by Miriam McClung done in 1975. [Note: The artwork in the example living space photos is not to scale of actual reproduction dimensions.] ABOUT MIRIAM MCCLUNG ARTWORK REPRODUCTIONS Select Miriam McClung works are available as reproductions. While reproductions are not original works of art, they are museum quality gicle printed with pigmented inks that with the proper care will last decades. Each reproduction is carefully stretched on a poly-cotton, matte finish canvas on a 1.5 wood stretcher, & gallery wrapped with printed mirrored edges. There is a wood bar across the back of the larger prints to prevent warping. The reproduction is not framed, but with our gallery wrapped mirrored edges, you can hang the work as is & it will look great without framing. REPRODUCTION COLOR ACCURACY Photographing the Artwork & Processing the Images: All artwork on the site is photographed with a Pentax K-1 35mm full frame SLR with a 50mm fixed lens to minimize distortion in a controlled lighting environment with 5500K daylight LEDs to render colors with optimal precision & accuracy. The image is then processed in Adobe Lightroom, adjusted & color corrected. Gicle Printing Process The image file is provided to our printer who uses a gicle printing process to reproduce the artwork with superior clarity & color. A gicle print is a digital inkjet print. It is made using a combination of pigmented inks & archival substrates (paper/canvas). The inkjet printer literally blends the colored inks as it prints to produce seamless, highly detailed prints of stunning color & detail. A gicle should not fade for a minimum of eighty years! Question: Why does my reproduction look different than the image I see on my computer? When viewing these images indoors in a web browser, artwork is likely to appear more saturated & vivid than if you viewed them in person. Also, your monitor/device is probably not professionally calibrated to display color accurately. & finally, screen images show a wider & more vibrant range of colors than can be actually printed.
