This bold red brick building is Grade II listed & was opened as Knot Mill & Deansgate on 20 July 1849 by the Manchester & Altrincham Railway. The station was formerly used for the Great Northern Railway goods station serving the Great Northern Warehouse across the road & next to Manchester Central station. Now it is a common stop off for daily commuters & revellers in the city.
