Manchester Central was one of Manchester’s main railway stations between 1880 & 1969. Since then it has had mixed fortunes, through dereliction & usage as a 1980’s car park, to its resurrection as the GMEx & now Manchester Central, hosting many big concerts & conventions. Red Brick Design wanted to celebrate this beautiful example of Victorian confidence & ambition in architecture, a reminder that industrial & functional buildings don’t have to be ugly.
