I’m proud to be a University of Wisconsin graduate & I love the landmark buildings on campus. I took photos of buildings & used them to create this design. Buildings are roughly in order from east to west but don’t use it as a campus diagram to try & find them! Starting from the lower left - a suggestion of the Arboretum & Lake Wingra, the Field House, the Dean’s House, Allen Centennial Garden & two historic barns on the Agriculture Campus. Washburn Observatory & the Carillon Tower overlook Lake Mendota & Picnic Point. On Bascom Hill - Music, Science, North, South & Bascom Halls. Grouped around the Library Mall fountain - the State Historical Library, Memorial Union, Old Red Gym, Memorial Library with glimpses of the rock wall winding by Science Hall, & Radio Hall. Satin finish tiles have scratch resistance with a semi-gloss finish similar to the color reproduction & texture of a glossy tile. They may be used as trivets, framed for display, or used in backsplashes, showers, accents in a tiled wall or wall murals in any room in residential or commercial buildings. They are not recommended for countertop, floor, or exterior applications (I have special tiles available for use as floor tile). Use any commercially available adhesive for ceramic tile; unsanded grout is recommended. Tiles can be cleaned with any household non-abrasive cleaner & a soft cloth or sponge. The glossy finish tiles are more striking for artwork & photo reproduction, but are best for decorative use only - in tile stands or framed pieces. If you plan to use the tile as a trivet, the glossy tile will work, but the satin finish resists scratching best. Glossy tiles are not recommended for surfaces which require frequent cleaning; grouting is not recommended. ABOUT MY TILES I transfer my design to a specially coated ceramic tile by a process which infuses special dyes directly into the coating using high heat. The graphic is colorfast (except when exposed to strong sunlight) & heat resistant. I purchase the specially coated blank white ceramic tiles, but all designs are my original artwork, created using my photos, computer graphics programs & my imagination. I transfer the design to the tile myself in my home studio.
