This little Torquayware pot is a vintage ceramic hair receiver. These were usually kept on the dressing table or washstand. Loose hair was removed from combs & brushes & stored in the hair receiver via the hole in the lid. The hair was then rolled & used to supplement the hairstyle/up-do of the lady. This example is marked with 267 on the base which is the pattern/design number. Probably originally purchased as a holiday souvenir or gift Approx Height: 7cms Diameter: across rim = 7.5cms in good used vintage condition with some signs of age & use - Torquayware often retailed with production faults, which were painted & glazed! - Please take a look at all of the photographs as part of the condition report.
