These Fine 925S Sterling Silver Clip-On Earrings feature an inscribed foliate design & were created by Gundorph Albertus (1887-1970) for Georg Jensen, most likely in the 1940s. Albertus studied sculpture at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, joining Georg Jensen as a Chaser in 1911. He became Georg Jensen’s Assistant Director in 1926 & held the position until 1954. Whilst at GJ, he designed the Mitra, the company’s first cutlery pattern made from Stainless Steel in mass production. This should not bely his outstanding design credentials, which saw him win the Gold Medal at the Paris World Exhibition in 1925 & the Diplome d’honneur at L’Exposition Internationale in Paris in 1937.
