This is a very unique piece. Original 2004 NYC street art photography of a Swoon wheatpaste mounted on reclaimed distressed barn wood with a lot of character the photo is also combined with & layered onto another color complimentary shot of abstract photography & then glazed & sealed with a clear polyurethane. Note: in these collages each individual image is printed, layered & pasted on separately to give just that extra bit of subtle dimensionality & physicality. Ie I’m not layering them in Photoshop & then printing the flattened image as one print. I would argue that Swoon is the pinnacle of what came out of the whole NYC street art explosion in the 2000’s. Her mastery of fine cut out paste ups onto beautifully selected pre-patina’d industrial urban city walls is sublime. But that’s just my take on. You be the judge for yourself. The photo is from a series of work I did in NYC from 2003 until 2008 focusing at first on Street Art & later on the more pure abstracts & unintended collage & decollage coming & going on the city walls. Everything in my Ready-Made series is a one of a kind piece sturdily backed & ready to hang. Each piece also comes with a unique JuxtArtStudios label on the back.
