Kinneir studied engraving at the Chelsea School of Art from 1935 to 1939. After World War II, he was employed as an exhibition designer by the Central Office of Information. He next worked for the Design Research Unit, & then opened his own practice in 1956. He also taught part-time at the Chelsea School of Art. With colleague Margaret Calvert, he designed many of the road signs used throughout the United Kingdom, Crown Dependencies, & British overseas territories. Their system has become a model for modern road signage. The original road sign maquettes (models) produced by Kinneir & Calvert for a presentation to the Ministry of Transport are now held at the St Bride Library. Our usual packaging: Beautifully presented in biodegradable cello bag backed by 250gsm recycled card. Will be also sent in cardboard reinforced DO NOT BEND envelope. Where possible, we also include a sheet with information about the print. PLEASE NOTE THAT FROM JULY 1ST, WE WILL NO LONGER SHIP TO GERMANY. Whilst we wholeheartedly agree with the intentions of the new VerpackG regulations, the threat of fines mean that proving compliance is a complex & time-consuming process which is too cumbersome for small businesses such as ours. With apologies. Almost without exception, the materials sent out by us will continue to be recycled, recyclable or biodegradable. 1937 Jock Kinneir Lithograph Of Copper Engraving Printed On Cylinder Wove At The Curwen Press 975x725 Ins
